Since1993

Introduced to rock climbing in Southern California at age six by his older brother and idol Linley, Dwight has since pursued and survived climbing adventures on nearly every continent. As a design student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, he honed his skills in the late 70’s on early trad routes at Bishop Peak and subsequently moved to the Sierra foothill area to play on big rocks. Over the following years, Dwight has applied a traditional approach to new climbing challenges throughout the Sierra.

He is the author of climbing guides to Bishop Peak and the Tollhouse Rock area, is a published cartoonist, writer and photographer and an authority on urban design and downtown revitalization. Dwight is currently the Director of Planning and Development Services for the City of Clovis.

Aside from climbing, he is an avid sailplane and airplane enthusiast and has traversed the Sierra multiple times on foot, skis and unpowered aircraft.

Dwight lives with his muse, Mandy at their Sierra foothill ranch near Prather. He is a recognized collector of friends, western art and mammals.
